I can not believe I have completed my first big project using In Design for my first time. Time really flew by! When we were first assigned this project to create a business card for an organization we were interested in, I was not thrilled. I thought it would take up so much of my time, I thought I would have the worst design and I thought I would end up quitting halfway through the project. However, now that I have completed my final copy I am so happy we were assigned this project. Everything I initially thought, didn’t even happen. I was freaking out for no reason!
Designing this business card was a little time consuming, but it wasn’t unbearable. Our professor, Adam Croom created super easy-to-follow online instructions that helped so much. There were rarely any times I was confused, and if I was, I knew he would do his best to help me. His encouragement made this project run smoothly. I also think the connection I had with my organization really got me pumped to create an awesome business card. As I stated in a previous post, my organization is my friend’s small jewelry business, Craft by Kraft. Maine Kraft, the owner, is amazing and I really wanted to create something that could potentially help her business expand. Being so close to her, I knew I needed my card to be perfect. After gaining some inspiration and doing a little research, I think I created a business card that truly shows what her business is all about. Below is the final copy of my business card: Craft by Kraft Final
If you take a look at my last post, Business Card Draft, you can see I made a couple changes. I didn’t want to make any HUGE changes because I really liked the concept I had in my first draft. However, I took some of my peers advice and changed a couple of things. Silly me forgot that I needed to have a back for my business card so I went ahead and added one. I kept the same color scheme and made my logo bigger as well as my image, capturing each of the girls faces. They were small changes, but I think they made a huge difference. Overall I am extremely happy with my final product. I still can’t believe I have finished this project and it kind of makes me a little sad as well because I was having a lot of fun with it. I’m excited to show Maxine what I have created for her! She really liked my draft so I’m hoping she likes this one even more. It would be so cool if she actually used my business card design.
Anyways, I feel like I have rambled enough. If anyone reading this is nervous about creating a project on In Design I suggest not freaking out! It takes time and patience, but trust me, the way I am feeling right now is a feeling you definitely want to experience when your final draft is completed. Do not give up and I’m sure whatever it is, it’ll be great!
