This week, we were asked to finish our business cards and letterheads by adding more to the basic file we submitted last week. I felt accomplished more than ever this week when I was able to take my InDesign projects to the next level. I was amazed at what I was capable of putting together. I transformed my business card by adding a picture background and also utilized photoshop by cropping my company’s logo and then pasting it on the card. For my letterhead, I taught myself how to customize and add borders which amped up the visual aspect. Although it took me quite a while to teach myself how to use these tools, I learned a lot through the process and now feel more confident about projects like these. The reason I felt so proud of my work was because I actually had to sit down, play around with the program and even do some research but once I complete the business card and letterhead, I realized it was all my own work and not only that, but it looked awesome. This week was eye-opening as far as making progress with my PR skills! Also, I would recommend future students to remain patient when constructing these projects. Although they can be tedious or even confusing in the beginning, it is worth it to learn InDesign and feel accomplished when finishing the projects you complete on the program. These are skills you will carry with you for the rest of your PR career.
