This week, we were asked to submit the final draft of our newsletter. Although I previously created one dummy layout, I found this to be the most challenging assignment yet. The most difficult part was making sure that each article had a photo, headline, subline, byline, and photo caption. This project was also tedious because I had to make sure everything was properly aligned. Although it was time-consuming, I felt an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment once I finished. Looking at this assignment as a whole was rewarding for many reasons: I finally felt comfortable with InDesign, I created a newsletter from scratch and I was able to achieve something I wouldn’t have even considered at the beginning of the semester. I enjoyed this assignment overall because it caused me to grow as a PR student. Completing this newsletter made everything come full circle and I’m excited to utilize these skills throughout the rest of my time at OU and in my PR career.
