My first experiences with the projects in this class consisted of an  overwhelming sense of confusion as I taught myself to use Photoshop and InDesign. These programs were tough in the beginning, but as I continued to apply knowledge from each previous week, I learned how to fully utilize all of the tools they offer and make each project even more detailed. I really started to feel accomplished when I was able to give the assignments more personality and as I watched the simplicity that I saw at the beginning of the semester vanish, I knew that I had grown as a PR student. The one assignment that pushed me more than others was the newsletter. Although it was extremely time-consuming and tedious, this was the project that gave me the biggest sense of pride and comfort in knowing that I will have these skills for future internships and a career in PR. Overall, I feel as if I have grown as a practitioner because before this course, I had never used Photoshop or InDesign and now, not only have I used them but I am capable of creating basically anything on these programs. I am more at ease as I approach the time in my life for internships and a career because the skills I learned in this class will definitely be an expectation.
