This week, we were asked to create four different social media pieces to represent an organization of our choice.

I wanted to represent a well-known company that is not only recognized for their appearance on social media but their ability to reach a target audience in a personal way. Considering these aspects, I did a little research and discovered Spotify to be an ideal company with endless promotional opportunities. I also chose Spotify because it is an app I use every single day and music is a huge part of my life. This assignment caused me to realize how important it is to develop a connection between the brand and audience that is relatable and realistic.

After completing a social media post for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest, I surprisingly realized this would be an area of PR I would love to pursue. For most companies today, social media is the largest and most effective way to reach potential customers. I really enjoyed creating the social media designs and developing a theme to connect the four pieces. I discovered how big of an impact these small design projects can make as people scroll through their feed everyday. They must be simple yet convey a strong message. They should also be visually appealing because they won’t be seen for very long.

As I reflect on this unit, I am considering a new path in my future career in PR. Social media is equally as important as other forms of advertisement!
