For my communication strategy, I want to stick closely to those symbolic letters: ESPN. That’s what the logo is and as I’m thinking about my business card, that’s what I want the focus to be as well.
The visuals will, without a doubt, be type driven. If I can figure out a way to incorporate pictures, I will add those as I see fit. I want the main focus to be on what ESPN can do for the consumer, not on the design itself.
The type and images need to let people know that we value the delivery of sports more than anything else. We want to be and remain the worldwide leader of sports and will stop at nothing to make sure that we do that.
When someone sees this business card, our letterhead, it needs to be crisp and clean. We want people to know that we are, without a doubt, THE place to get your sports fix. We don’t want people to even consider Fox Sports 1 for anything, ever.
As I think about my business card, I’m wrestling with two ideas.
The first is having a red card, with white letters and the logo on the card.
The more ideal card maybe white though, with black letters.
What I decide on, I want people to know that ESPN is their home for sports. Period.
