This week, we began work on our Direct Mailers in Photoshop.

Allow me to cut to the chase.

Photoshop. Stresses. Me. Out.

It feels like it was so long ago that we began looking at the basics of Photoshop. As a matter of fact, I’m sure that was in another lifetime. I say that because I forgot everything. And I mean EVERYTHING.

When I began this project, I had no idea what I wanted to do. Here I am fixing to provide a look into my rough draft, and I still have no idea what I want to do or how I’m going to do it.

Our mission is come up with a direct mailer for OU Recruiting Services. Sounds easy in concept right?

The problem is, Photoshop introduced so many different new tools, right as I had just gotten comfortable with InDesign.

Nonetheless, here’s a picture of my rough draft.

Unit 3.1 Reflection

Now, I know what you’re thinking:

There are no words

There are no logos

There is only a background.

And that’s a start.

In the stakeholder post, I noted that I wanted to appeal to transfer students whose parents were alumni and regularly attended OU Football games.

I am 99.9% sure that this is what I’m going to use as my background for this first mailer. I hope to turn this into something spectacular and most importantly, something that I can be proud of.

In a way, this kinda reminds me of my rough first draft of the business card. I didn’t know what I wanted to do with that project either and that turned out to be okay.

I really think this one will be, too. I just need to get over myself and brush up on my Photoshop skills and get to work!

I can’t wait to see what the final project looks like!
