1. What were you asked to do?

This week, I was asked to pick a Fortune 500 Company to design a newsletter for. This week we just had to create a dummy layout of a newsletter. We went back to using InDesign which I was pretty excited about. I really like InDesign and I have found that I prefer it over photoshop and other software!

2. How did you respond to what you were asked to do?

I chose Apple as my Fortune 500 Company for this assignment. I love Apple, I use their products on a regular basis and I just figured it would be fun to create a newsletter for them. I was a little confused though because when I created my dummy layout I just used Gaylord here at OU as an example rather than making a dummy layout for Apple. Obviously though, when I turn in my final draft it will be for Apple!

3. How did react to what you actually did?

Overall I was pretty excited. It didn’t take me a super long time to create the dummy layout and it turned out looking pretty similar to the example that I had seen! I am excited to finish my final draft for Apple and turn that in!

4. Now go one level deeper: Why do you think your reaction was what it was?

I think that I was expecting the dummy layout to take me quite a bit more time than it actually did. I think it took me right around the hour mark to create it, which I was very happy with. It just shows me that I am getting better at using InDesign and that I am becoming for familiar and more confident with the softwares that we are using!

Here is my dummy layout:
