This week’s assignment consisted of starting to create our own business card.
I was nervous yet excited at the same time to tackle this project. I was nervous in the fact that we were beginning our very first InDesign project and I am still not as familiar with the program yet. However; I find design to be something that really interests me. I was excited to see what my mind would create for my organization’s business card!
Starting to create my business card, I began to feel overwhelmed. I had a specific design in mind, but didn’t know to create/execute it. I was able to get the nerves out of my system by re-watching the Lynda videos to refresh my memory. After, I began to mess around with my design for majority of the day. Even though I was messing around on InDesign for probably more than three hours, it was definitely entertaining for me and something I didn’t mind doing.
I feel as though I felt nervous and overwhelmed when I first began to create and design my business card because of all the unfamiliarity. This is the very first project we were given without any format to follow. We were to be completely creative by ourselves. I was overwhelmed because there are still some things I do not know how to execute on InDesign. However, I know InDesign takes patience and a lot of practice. I’m definitely looking forward to continuing to learn the ways of InDesign and I’m excited to see what all I will create this semester!
