This week was interesting; I was asked to make a draft of a business card in InDesign for Youtube, the company that I had chosen. I am not going to lie, this assignment was challenging for me. We had to start from scratch and create a business card on our own.
At first, I responded with excitement. That is usually what happens when I am given an assignment like this one. Excitement and then nerves and stress. I browsed the internet for inspiration and decided to dive in headfirst.
My draft isn’t great. I still have a lot of improvements that I need to make and quite a bit to learn, but I tried. I will keep trying and playing around with the software until I can create something that I would hand out to people and be proud of. I am excited to get feedback and criticism so that I can begin to make changes and improve my very elementary design.
I think that my reaction started as excitement because I enjoy challenges and learning to do new things. Once I realized just how challenging this week would be though, I began to stress and wonder how I was going to be able to make it. I realized though that this is just the beginning stages of creating our business cards and I will have time to play around with my design more and create something much better than my minimalist design that i have right now.
