My second design project is officially done! For the most part I’m really happy with my two direct mailers. I think I improved a lot over the last few weeks. My final drafts are nothing compared to what my rough drafts looked like. While they are far from printer ready they are a lot better than what I started out with. The designs are more refined and personalized and targeted more to the stakeholders.
The stakeholder for my first direct mailer was prospective OU students who have a least one family member who graduated from OU thus making them a OU Legacy. With this mailer I wanted to emphasize OU’s history, traditions and family aspects. The stakeholder for my second mailer was OU alumni who had a student considering OU.
At first I hated Photoshop. The layers were confusing and it required a lot of time playing around on it before I figured all the features out. I like InDesign better. I think it is easier to use. Photoshop did get a little easier to use once I played around with it. For my level of experience with Photoshop I am pretty proud of what I accomplished. There is still a lot more I would like to change about my design, if I had the time and/or skill, but I’m happy with what I have. I both pieces speak to my stakeholders well and I like the design elements included in them .
Below are my two mailers for all to look at.
