Okay wow what a week! I had a design revelation this week when I found out that downloading fonts changes the universe/the entire premise and potential of your design #holla. I decided that I should focus my efforts with these mailers on having National Merit Scholars APPLY, not attend. Even though I think this mailer campaign will also help with the attending thing too. So I started over completely and created a standard back for both of my mailers that looks like this:

Direct Mailer: Second Mailer Reflection

It’s super simple right now, but I think that is going to make sense with the rest of the campaign and with the fronts.

So I started over on the first mailer, just to keep you updated on everything that’s going on in the mailer world with me. And now it looks like this:

Direct Mailer: Second Mailer Reflection

I’m honestly really happy with it. I think its bold, simple and conveys the right message, especially pinpointing National Merit Scholars. (ps this font is called bebas neue just in case you ever want to use it)

I stuck with the same general theme for my new mailer, trying to think of a way to persuade parents to have their kid apply at OU. I went with the best way I know how, making people feel special! So this is the first draft of the new mailer:

Direct Mailer: Second Mailer Reflection

I’m not totally sold on it yet, and think maybe I should change the background image or maybe the wording? I’m not sure, still working on it, but I like that its simple and to the point, while still being visually interesting and suitable for parents. Let me know what you think!!
