This week I was able to design a mini social media campaign for the Ocean Conservancy. Thankfully, we took a break from Adobe Suite and got to use Canva to design a Twitter header, Facebook cover, Facebook post and Instagram post for our chosen organization. I can honestly say that I adored this assignment and I am so proud of my social media designs! I have used Canva before and so I was really excited to hear that we were focusing on it for this assignment. I feel so much more comfortable using Canva than I do Photoshop or InDesign. I chose the Ocean Conservancy as my organization to design for because I would love to work in their communications department one day.
My social media designs focused around promoting the International Polar Bear Day, which is on Feb. 27. I wanted each design to have its own signature identity apart from the collection but be unified under common colors, images and typesets. I think I achieved this. Once I really started working on this project I fell in love with my designs and I was so excited to see the final product. I honestly can’t believe that I created these.
I also really want to send my designs to the Ocean Conservancy to use. From what I have seen of there social media my designs align with their brand and I could easily see them fitting seamlessly onto their social media. It would be amazing if they were used. Fingers crossed.
Side note: My three favorite designs are the Instagram post, Twitter header and Facebook post. If you look at the Ocean Conservancies Instagram account my post fits in seamlessly. None of their Instagram photos have text only photos.
Here are my designs!
