This week we were asked to create a letterhead that reflected the design concept we used in our business card. I was so proud of how my business card draft came out that, I was excited to contribute some of the work I put into that assignment into this new letterhead.

At first, I thought the assignment would be fairly simple. However, I spent more time working on it than I expected. I think it was mostly because I wasn’t satisfied with the way my letterhead came out. Critiquing my own work, I thought my letterhead page was too simple and maybe even boring. I spent way too much time trying to make this letterhead be as awesome as my business card and something about it was just off. Here is a preview of my letterhead: ckletterhead

I wrote my letter to a college student asking if they might be interested in becoming a student ambassador for the jewelry line, Craft by Kraft on their campus. The letter itself is a little rough and as you can see from the image, nothing really stands out on the letterhead. I was hoping I could add more designs to it, but I’m not really sure how yet. I was also hoping to make the pink box on the bottom, gradient pink, but every time I tried the text disappeared so I had a hard time creating it like I envisioned. I’m not 100% happy with what I have right now, but I know I’m still in the work and progress phase so maybe once I become more familiar with Indesign I’ll be able to perfect my letterhead and be proud of my work.
