This week we got to pic a Fortune 500 company and create a newsletter for them. I was initially super excited about this because I personally love newsletters for whatever reason. They give you so much freedom as opposed to other publications. You can either make it very photography centered, lots of news only, or you can do a really cool layout that balances both. You really can do anything and make it as design heavy as you want. I wanted to go with a very sleek and modern feel being as though I had Apple, but without being too boring. I also wanted to make sure that I had plenty of photos because they are all about the quality photography and displaying their latests innovations – and let’s be honest, if this newsletter was viewed online, it will probably be on one of their products which is super cool! In doing the “dummy layout” on InDesign a sigh of relief came over me. It is so user friends I was able to get exactly what I was envisioning down on thew page. I am excited for next week to be able to actually make the basic layout to a fully functioning newsletter! I am very proud of the layout I have created and am very excited to put real content in it. In theory I have left some room for graphics that I hope to make, so that is also something to be looking forward to! Overall, great week.
