…And we’re back to using lovely InDesign!
This week in PR pubs, we are beginning our design project #4. We were first asked to choose a 500 Fortune Company that we would like to make a newsletter for. I had a hard time deciding which company to pick. It was between Disney, Coca-Cola, CBS and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. After evaluating each website, I decided that the lucky winner is St. Jude’s! I am excited to create a newsletter for this company that is full of important news and has a fun, appealing look to it.
After we picked our company, we were asked to come up with a dummy layout of our newsletter. I ended up creating two different layouts. I really liked the first layout I made; however, there were similarities found between mine and professor Croom’s layout. I decided to then make a second layout that was different and not as similar. Here is the layout that I designed:
It definitely took me some time to come up with a unique layout. I was trying to go for a look that was different than most layouts. I was a bit skeptical on whether to add the lines in between the columns or not. I decided to go with it anyways.
It was nice to return to InDesign to begin our 4th design project! I was surprised at how much I remembered from the previous assignment we had dealing with newsletter layouts in InDesign. I wasn’t so nervous to complete the assignments for this week. I actually knew what I was doing! The only thing I had trouble with was coming up with a unique design that will work for my company.
I’m excited to start filling in the newsletter with pictures and actual stories next week!
