Alright, crossing my fingers, but I THINK I’ve finally got the gist of Photoshop. On the first week, I was very stressed about the second design project. I wasn’t fully capable of using Photoshop and eventually gave up. I made my first design project in Powerpoint, which was apparent to Professor Croom. After meeting with him in his office and asking a few basic questions, I went home to re-do my week one work. After I finished I was impressed at how well I did. It took me a while, but I did my assignment and liked the way it turned out. I then began to work on my second direct mailer and by then I was already doing better in Photoshop.
The second week(last week) I responded much better to what we were asked to do. I think I owe most of this to my face to face meeting with Professor Croom. I felt much more at ease after the meeting. I’ve used Photoshop on other projects since my two direct mailers and have been having minimal problems. I feel much more confident with the tools we are using. I’m excited to get better at them because there are some personal things I’d like to do for fun on them. I still prefer Indesign mostly because it never gave me any problems and was an application that I could learn on my own and didn’t have to use Google ever 2 minutes.
I wouldn’t do anything differently if I could start over because I technically did start over from my first direct mailer. Getting a fresh start with a blank photoshop canvas and a new concept made it easier to work with.
