Well this week proved to be a bit tougher than I anticipated. I already thought it was going to be hard, but it turns out that InDesign is no joke. I enjoyed watching the videos and I liked the mark up assignment, but the typesetting assignment was pretty difficult for me. It said that the fonts that were used in the originals weren’t available for me to use, and the ones that were wouldn’t let me use bold. So, I just opted to use a different font that would work better. I don’t know why this was happening though and the internet wasn’t much help either. Another thing I had trouble with was getting rid of the text boxes so only the text would show. Again, the internet didn’t help and I feel like I tried everything. It seems like something simple yet it was so complicated.
So, in the end I wasn’t happy with what I did but I tried my best. I still produced something I couldn’t before even if it wasn’t very good. It was still enjoyable even though it was frustrating, and I did learn a lot. I’m excited to learn more and hopefully these tasks that seem so hard now will seem easy in the near future. I know if I keep fiddling I will figure it out, it will definitely be a learning process.
