This week was the most challenging and time consuming week, but it was also the most enjoyable. I really liked designing a newsletter for a company I actually have interest in. I also felt like I knew what it was supposed to look like, where as with the direct mailer and business card I had no idea. I chose Disney as my company, and it was pretty easy to find some good stories to use for the newsletter. I think that it definitely has some issues with color, font and overall look, but it looks worlds better than my dummy layout so I’m proud of that. It looks like a newsletter that needs some work, but a newsletter nonetheless. This was my favorite project and I think that it was a good learning experience and also showed my how far I have come with Indesign. I knew mostly everything I needed to do and there were only a few things that I struggled with. Overall, I’m happy with what I was able to come up with. As for my target public, I wanted to focus the newsletter around movies and people who are interested in movies. Disney offers much more news than movies, for example they have their own channel, Disney Land theme park, internal changes, different campaign announcements, awards, etc. However, I wanted to just choose news that had to do with upcoming movies or past movies. My last article is not about a movie, but I figured that since it is the holidays, it would be relevant to anyone who had interest in Disney. It was just a short article to bring the newsletter to a close and announce their plans for the holidays.
