This has by far been my favorite week. I have worked with Canva before, so I was excited to see that we would be working with it in this class. I had only done infographics, though, and it was cool to see all the other things that Canva can do. I think it’s an awesome tool. It seemed so easy to use and I was much happier with what I was coming up with on Canva than on Photoshop or Indesign. I know that PS and IND can do really cool things, they are just difficult to do and I suppose that’s why people get paid big bucks for knowing how to use them. For simple social media posts, this is what I would go to, but more complex designs would require the other two. I tried to do a Christmas theme for my client which is The Hershey Company. The posts are more general, but the cover photos are specifically for the holidays. Since people will already see the cover pages, the posts are just giving people ideas of what they can do with the chocolate for the holidays; for example baking and gifting. I had some trouble getting the colors to be right on the posts, it seemed like both black and white weren’t showing up well, but I think it is readable. I know that it could be better, but overall personally I was happy with it.
