This week was really busy! We were asked to design a direct mailer for OU Requirement Services. Before we could do that we had to research and identify a stakeholder and complete a segmenting stakeholder matrix. My stakeholder for the first mailer was prospective students who had someone in their family who graduated from OU.

This week wasn’t without its struggles. Identifying my stakeholder was easy because I based it off of myself and my situation when I applied to OU. Coming up with my design for my direct mailer was fun. At first I was unsure about my design but once I figured out that I wanted to focus it on the legacy aspect it all came together. I chose to use a before and after photo of Ellison Hall on either side of my mailer. I thought this was a pretty cool design idea because it really showed the history of OU. Also Ellison Hall is a really pretty building. However, I had some serious difficulties with Photoshop this week. I had just gotten used to InDesign and then I was thrown into something else completely.  I couldn’t figure out how to place a photo or how to navigate the layers. I really had to play around with it to figure anything out. I even did a happy dance when I finished my mailer!

I am pretty happy with my mailer right now. I can see changes I want to make but I think it’s pretty good considering where I began.
