This week in PR Publications we were asked to choose an organization and create a Facebook cover, Twitter cover, Facebook post and Instagram post for that organization using Canva, a designing website. I was so relieved when I read this project. I have used Canva once before for another class and I really enjoyed it. Canva is easy to use, has thousands of resources available and is a great way to create quick, professional graphics for multiple sources such as such as resumes, social media, documents, blog posts and more.

For this project I chose to stick with the same organization I used for my business card, Craft by Kraft, a jewelry line started by a close friend of mine. I was excited that I would be able to create more graphic designs for her, in hopes that she would use them to gain exposure. Creating each design did not take as much time as the other projects we’ve had in the past (thank goodness) so I was able to create all four designs in about three hours. I wanted them to be perfect so I spent a lot of that time perfecting the font and size of each design.

Here are my finished products!

I’m pretty pleased with what I created! The best part is that it took little time to create each. I’m hoping we have more projects using Canva because it’s so fun to use. The things you can use Canva for are endless. The only thing I do wish Canva would do is enhance their picture cropping options. Right now it only allows you to zoom in or out of pictures so each picture can fit the space given, but it does not allow you to stretch pictures either horizontally or vertically. Besides that though, I love Canva! I’m glad we were given the opportunity to use it for this project.
