Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) does not necessarily have a competitor because it has the same goal as American Diabetes Association, which is to find a cure for diabetes, more specifically Type 1. Although, in terms of comparing JDRF to American Diabetes Association, the looks are very different. JDRF has revamped their image over the years and their new slogan is “Turn Type 1 into Type None”, which is a catchy term. Most of their campaigns are centered around this.
JDRF’s image and message should differ from the American Diabetes Association in many ways. For one, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) is mainly centered around Type 2 diabetes. This form of diabetes is, for the most part, able to be cured, while there is no cure for Type 1. Ads for ADA are centered on losing weight and healthy food choices, while for JDRF it is mostly about raising money for research and a cure.
