The Around the Corner blog is ran and written by Casey Coleman, the Chief Information Officer of the General Services Administration. In her blog she creates discussions about the interworkings of the federal government. She updates her blog around three times a month, and gives insight to her interesting topic.

The strengths of this blog are her topics and writing style. Everything Coleman writes about gives an new perspective on a current event or trend. This has made her blog one of the most successful in the government blogging world. She has created a following of people whom can see an event from a new perspective, or can start a meaningful discussion about the interworking system that is the federal government.

The main weakness of Coleman’s blog is the frequency of her posts. She usually only updates her blog a couple of times a month. If Coleman started to give weekly posts, it could create better discussions with a greater variety of topics.

I would definitely take a lot of the elements in Coleman’s blog and put them into my own. Things such as bringing a new perspective on a popular topic and responding to reader questions and feedback.
