Takeaways:

  •  The first takeaway from this lesson was the idea of awareness of the publications your office puts out. How the media and public understands and reacts to your writing can make all the difference.
  •  Thinking about internet traffic is another takeaway from this chapter. You can see how your publication affects the public around you by noting the changes in site traffic and show that your message is reaching more people.
  •  The components of public relations measurement is the last main takeaway from this chapter.
  1. What did you read that made you think about public relations or public relations writing in a new way?
    • I have also known that you have to be a strong writer in PR, but I don’t always think of the amount of editing that goes into drafting a perfect message. PR professionals don’t always have professional proofreaders to check over their work.
  2. What did you read that you think is most useful/applicable to your current writing?
    • For my current writing I think the lesson of always over editing my work will help me to become a better writer in general.
  3. What did you read that you think is most useful/applicable to your professional goals?
    • Learning to track how people take publications will prove to be helpful when trying to figure out how the people feel about a certain bill or idea.
