I hate reading old things I have written. Hate it. I never look back and think to myself, “Wow, I still think this is something of merit that I would be confident to show anyone.”
I really enjoy writing things, proofreading them for grammatical errors, turning them in, and forgetting it ever happened. While I know this is not healthy and I need to fix this issue and become more confident in my writings, it’s a process. I will get better, but it will take some time. Kind of like getting over an ex-boyfriend, you need enough distance before you can really look at something again.

This time, though, I will look at my work and read through the journey I’ve been on this semester and look at the changes and progress I’ve made.

My first assignment was shit. Excuse my language, but wow it was bad. I feel bad for my professor having to look at that… But I guess we all have to start somewhere right?

Now that I’m looking back, most of this is really bad. My blog posts are funny sometimes, and my postcards aren’t too bad, but nothing looks amazing the way it did in my head when I thought about it.

Note to self, next time you take a creative class, give yourself more time to actually learn how to be creative. Thanks.

For the most part, I think I learned to accept the bad looking work, which isn’t the best outcome, but at least I didn’t have a mental breakdown about this class, so I’m going to call it a success.

I’m also super bitter that I did designs about Hillary Clinton and she lost, but that’s beside the point.

I’ll take away the understanding of how the software works, and be able to have an intelligent conservation with someone about the kinds of design elements I want in a given product, which I think it good.

I really think my posts get funnier and more honest as the semester went on. Or maybe I’m just crazy, that’s always an option.
