This week we were asked to mark a newspaper, identifying each component on the front page. We were also asked to recreate a flyer, applying the knowledge that we learned from the newspaper marking.
I was not intimidated by the newspaper markup, but I was very scared of recreating the flyer. I knew that the newspaper would not take long to complete, but I knew that the flyer would take “forever” to complete. I am not confident in my Photoshop skills, but I prepared by watching the videos…and then we didn’t even need Photoshop, but it was a nice refresher.
I feel accomplished after I finished the flyer. I am no longer intimidated by InDesign and feel confident to complete task on there now. I was proud that my poster looked similar to the one that was given to us. I still am in slight shock that I was able to finesse the poster to looking similar to the original one.
I think my reaction was what it was because of my lack of skills. I was proud that I accomplished an actual project on InDesign. It might have taken me a couple of hours, but I was happy when I did finally complete it.
