Well this is it. My last blog post for PR Publications 2016. Time has truly flown by! To end this course we were asked to create a Summary of Learning project. We were allowed to use any medium available such as videos, infographics, direct mailers, animations, and basically any medium you wanted to use. The possibilities were endless for this project. The only thing required was that the project summarize what we learned through this course and show how we have grown. I chose to test myself and create an animation video, something I had never used before. I feel like this course has consisted of trying new things daily so I felt it was necessary continue that by creating my first animation video. Using Go Animate online, I successfully completed my final project for this class. Check it out below!

Summary of Learning 2016: Paloma Pineda

This animation, like the rest of our projects, took a lot of time and effort, but I believe it perfectly describes how I felt and what I learned throughout this semester. I begin with introducing the course and Adam Croom, our professor, then I move ahead to logging onto PR Pubs online for the first time. I describe how I felt in the beginning of the course: frustrated, helpless, overwhelmed, and tired through my animation figure. As time goes by, I become more confident with my assignments and they become a lot easier to accomplish. I make references to how I felt after knowing I did a good job on a project and I end the video with my animation figure giving advice to a student who is interested in the course. My entire animation video represents how I felt when the course first started the class, to how I feel now, accomplished, so much so that I want to recommend everyone to take PR Pubs.

This course turned out to be more than I expected. I never pictured myself being able to use Photoshop or InDesign on my own, nor did I think I would now have my own blog that anyone in the world could easily read. I think through this course I’ve become more confident with my work, I’ve learned how to prioritize my time, I might have turned into a slight perfectionist, and I’ve learned to push through tough materials. I am genuinely sad that this class is over, I feel this class should be year long! Photoshop and InDesign have so many features that we didn’t get a chance to go over and I hope I can learn everything about the two programs in the future.

I hope you enjoyed my Summary of Learning and following me along through this course!
