This is it. I’m done.
After an insane semester of PR Publications, it’s strange to see it all come to an end. The weeks of blogging and creating content is done. Now I can rest. That is the idea behind my final project: sleep. The sleepy designer is a short children’s style story about a designer who grows and learns over the course of a semester in PR publications. It’s a poem, rhymes most of the time (very proud of that) and tells a story.
Regardless of my exhaustion, I feel like I have had an amazing semester. I’ve not only learned the tangible skills that come with design and creating publications, but I’ve learned what an eye for design looks like and how to target a message at an audience.
Keeping this blog alive for a semester has taught me how to really analyze and think about my day-to-day life. Multiple times during this semester I have seen events outside of class impact what my work looks like. Writing for an audience that is public was a blast! Although it was initially frightening, to know that it’s possible anyone from around the world could tune in to my little blog is incredible. Although I highly doubt anything profound was said this semester, I have truly grown in thinking outside of the box not only with design, but with storytelling and analysis in general.
Thank you for a wonderful semester, Dr. Croom, and please enjoy: The Sleepy Designer.
