Over the last year I have completed three internships in government. One in Governor Fallin’s office, one with the US Congress, and one with the Oklahoma House of Representatives. While all these internships have been educational, I am constantly looking for more opportunities to grow and learn more about how government works. For this fall I’ve looked into multiple internship opportunities, but two have stuck out in my mind to apply for.
The first internship is with Senator James Lankford’s office in Oklahoma City. This internship would help complete my understanding of how government works. This internship would show the differences between working in a Representative’s office and the importance of district case work. For this internship I need a cover letter, resumé, and good recommendations from my previous internships.
The second internship I will be applying for is an internship with Lt. Governor Todd Lamb’s office. This internship would teach me about the role of the Lt. Governor in state government. I would also make connections with Oklahoma’s potential next governor. This could transfer into a job in the campaign, or hopefully in the governor’s office. This internship would also require a cover letter, resumé and recommendations. I think this would be a good internship for making connections in Oklahoma.
