The three typography games that I played were “Type Connection”, “Kern Type” and “Type War”. All three of these games really did make me notice how different or similar the fonts are.

The “Type Connection” game was interesting because there were storylines behind the different fonts. My first date was opposites attract with ITC Century and Futura. The second date was similar attracting with Archer and Avenir I really enjoyed the different dates and the amount of detail that was in each storyline. I also liked the headlines the site showed when you were done to give you a visual on how they are either opposites or similar.

“Kern Type” was simple yet made you think how important spacing is when it comes to the different fonts. Fonts can either have more of a straight edge or cursive ends. This ends up affecting the spacing and how close or far the letters have to be.

“Type War” was surprisingly very hard. I knew there were many different fonts but I did not realize the amount of difference in just one part of the letter can determine what font is which.  I noticed Verdana and Helvetica Neue were very similar Times New Roman was similar with Didot, Garamond and Baskerville. I used the cheat and it took me a long time but I did learn a lot in the differences between the fonts. Here is a screenshot of me finishing level 10.
