After watching Justin Seeley’s Introduction to Graphic Design, I have a better idea of how important typography is. Typography is just one component of creating a design, but it is a very important component. Its is one that draws the audience in and makes or breaks a design. It’s all like a big puzzle and all of the pieces have to fit together in order for the work to be great! I liked that these games gave me a chance to do hands-on exercises to learn about the different components of typography.
Type War

Something that really seemed to puzzle me was the game Type War. I started off pretty well but my longest streak that I could maintain was a solid 2. What I really like about this game is that it shows you how much you don’t know, which is great! I think that some people don’t even think about how different the typefaces can be!
Kern Type
Another game that I really liked was Kern Type. I was much better at this one! This gamed really stressed the importance of spacing in between letters. At first it was easier and then it got harder and harder. I thought that spacing the Z’s and Y’s were the more difficult ones to arrange! Overall, it was a great learning exercise!
Shoot the serif
The game Shoot the serif was so much fun! It was fast pace and very intriguing. I also feel very confident that I can pick out a serif font from a sans serif font! Seeley covered the difference between serif and sans serif fonts in his tutorial videos, which really helped me do well in this game!
