After watching, Introduction to Typography on the Introduction to Graphic Design video, I was left extremely confused. I never imagined there would be rules and different terminology for typography. The games provided helped clear my confusion and even became a little addicting.

I started off with my personal favorite, Shoot the Serif. When I first started playing I was awful. I was not quick enough to shoot all the serifs found. I was so awful I didn’t even make it to the next level. However, after a few tries I managed to get my score to a 124. I’m not sure if that’s very good, but it was a huge step up from my first few tries.

Type War was the most difficult of all the games. When I first began I was again, awful. I could not distinguish the different fonts besides Times New Romans. I was tempted to use Microsoft Word to help me, but I chose not too. After getting nearly every typeface wrong, I started memorizing how each was shaped. That helped me raise my score to a 24 and helped me reach level 5.

I discovered I have an eye for kerning after playing Kern Type. I was surprisingly good at this game. I believe its because I tend to be a perfectionist at times so the uneven text was making me cringe a little. I managed to score 100/100 on nearly every text. My lowest score was an 84.
