Rules to writing
- Writing with clarity: Always a must. Clarity helps with meaning. It is important to be clear when writing so that you do not lose the reader’s interest/ confuse them or distort the meaning.
- Reducing clutter: Do not add words that are unnecessary . If there is one word that can replace 5 words, do so. It may be shorter but it is more concise and reader friendly.
- Using variety in your sentences: If every sentence has the same strike, the reader can get lost and confused with what was just read. Instead, switch up sentence structure so it is not boring!
- Using sentence emphasis effectively: Start the sentence off with the “so what.” What was the purpose of the sentence? Be able to read the sentence and have one big thing to take away from it.
Writing is important in all aspects of life. It is important to follow these rules to be capable of influencing others or reporting news concisely.
