This week in PR Pubs we were required to make a business card for any company we desired. I did a ton of research into a company called Cicis and realized they recently changed their logo. I can agree with the change because it looks much better (like if you updated windows XP to windows 8).

I was extremely confused on how to do this project. I did some research into a competitor, but it did not really contribute to my design process. I knew CiCis was a pizza buffet so I tried to maybe make a simple business card with a greasy fingerprint to reflect the company’s light-heartedness. Plus, it was a family-friendly establishment so it added some bonus points.

Nevertheless, I kept second guessing myself when making the business card as to how I first envisioned it. I came up with other ideas and tested other concepts. Nothing stuck until I looked at their logo. I thought “Hmm, what if I designed with their new logo in mind and make it the motif of the card?”

It took me 5 hours of testing to see what fit the best. I’m extremely proud of my work so far and I’m going into class tomorrow to ask how it looks. Of course, I will be doing more to it, but also want to give mad respect to designers out there. It is so much harder than it looks to make something look amazing.
On a side note, I did get a lot of experience in photoshop from in this project. You know what is weird? I think I worked more in photoshop than Indesign making this!
