After a great spring break, Tuesday started off with our new assignment in Public Relations Publications. We were to create social media content for a company of our choosing using the Canva platform.

I enjoyed learning about Canva and its tools; however, I think I will not use Canva in the future. Don’t get me wrong, I love Canva’s design, capabilities and content. I believe I will use other services like Adobe photoshop instead. Canva is more of a device for beginners in design. I think I have moved past the “beginner” level to amateur designer. Also, when using Canva, I found myself making designs out of adobe photoshop rather than using Canva itself. Canva has cool designs and illustrations, yet a lot of it is not free. There is a $12.95 membership fee (no thanks). And if you, don’t buy the membership then you’ll have a choice for microtransactions. But, I mean, $1 dollar for a single picture?!? Are you crazy?!

I did some designs before Thursday’s class and I’m only kinda happy about one of them. I think I put too much thought into it and then executed my thought out design poorly. Then again, I was never much of an artist as a child and now. Not a great week for me ugh.
With Canva, I felt as though I couldn’t make what I imagined. I took hours and hours Tuesday night trying to get inspiration for my company. Every time I did that with other software I was fine except when it came to Canva. Or, maybe I had a company with whom I had no inspiration for. In the end, my designs came out to be unpolished and looking like a six-year-old made them.
