As a college student, life can often seem hectic and disorganized. I like to compare it to swimming through a shark-infested ocean and somehow not losing any limbs. Since I am a very type A personality, and am someone who craves organization and structure, this is something that stresses me out immensely. However, I have recently began to gain a better appreciation for the hectic cycle that is life.

One of my classes that I am taking this semester is called PR Publications. It is a course that attempts to teach students of the creativity involved in Public Relations, show them basic Photoshop and design skills, and help them gain and overall understanding of how creativity is a process. The 5 steps of creativity-empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test-can all be substituted in a college setting. To understand the vast amount of diversity around us, we must EMPATHIZE with those different than ourselves. College is vital in helping young adults DEFINE themselves within the professional world and society as a whole. To push our limits, we must TEST how we do in the real world through internships and such. There are endless other examples, but I am extremely excited for the rest of the semester and all of the new information I will learn that will undoubtedly help me succeed both as a PR Professional and as a human being.
