Prior to this semester, I have done minimal work in practicing design because I had no idea how programs like InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator work. I split the cost of anAdobe Creative Cloudlicense with my sister, a senior advertising student at OU, in an attempt to teach myself.
It didn't go too well.
Most of it probably won't see the light of dayuntil I have some better work to contrast it with in a post, and my hope that this may happen increased a little during my PR Pubs class this week.
With my somewhat-basic knowledge of these programs, it was notextremelydifficult to remake a relatively simple design we had broken down last week. I still struggled, for sure. Some of the text we were using was automatically aligning itself at an angle I didn't want in a place I didn't want. It was thoroughly annoying until I pressed shift while moving a text box, and it just snapped into place.
Turns out, that was the easy part for me. Setting up layouts within a certain amount of space, yeah... That was a bit of personal struggle.Text needs a lot more space than you typically think, and kerning (character spacing)is also a big component in design.

Thanks for taking the time to hear what I had to say, and I hope you have a great day!
