Just in case I haven't met you yet:

Hi, my name is Clay Bradshaw and I am currently a sophomore public relations major at the University of
Oklahoma. Born and raised in Plano, Texas by a die-hard Longhorn dad, I ended up on the other side of the Red River because my sister, Annie, was better at brainwashing.
There's a long-winded story about how I ended up wearing the crimson and cream (and what piqued my interest in PR), but I will save that for another time. I have enjoyed my short time as a PR major because of the purpose it stands for: to serve as a bridge between the client and its audience.
Companies are always trying to find the next big project to put themselves on top, so their customers/fans/users might feel out of the loop when they're wanting to understand the business their supporting with their time and money.
There's a lot of topics a company might not be able to talk about in a way that people might understand, and I am more than willing to put forth the effort to make sure that I can properly inform as many people as I can in a way they can understand and empathize with. I want to help make sure that everyone is heard and feel as they are a part of a community of people they can talk to, including the business. Humans are social creatures, so we enjoy feeling cared for.
Making other people feel cared for by giving them a listening ear is my main objective. Granted I would much rather prefer being able to take the people I'm talking to out to lunch or coffee (it feels more genuine talking over a Bacon Cheese Burger or Chai Tea Latte), I know that's not realistic for most companies.
Crafting the perfect message becomes the key in this case. The messenger has to weave a welcoming message that encourages empathy, conversation and curiosity. The people have to care about what you're going to say if they want to talk about it with others and maybe even do some research of their own to further understand where you're coming from.
I hope I get the chance to get to meet you and get to know you better! Feel free to reach out to me via social media, thecontact pageoremail. Thanks for taking the time to hear what I have to say, and I hope you have a great day!
