Hello my kittens! Stella Mae back with yet another exciting development in the PR Publications saga. This week, part of my project-creating a direct mailer for the new University Housing that will be open to OU students in the fall of 2017-was to tour a currently-existing off campus housing option that could possibly provide competition for OU housing. With that in mind, I chose to visit the Vue, a new apartment complex a mere 3 minute drive from campus.

The Vue was exceptional. When I entered and asked for a tour, the tour guide was very cordial and pleasant and handed me a variety of promotional products that I immediately knew would be helpful when creating my own direct mailer. The Vue is five stories, the top being a balcony and each floor beneath including rooming as well as some other amenity. The decorations were modern and sleek, and although it is a relatively small apartment complex, it seemed quite open and roomy. I loved their use of bright colors and the outdoor pool and barbecue area was just beautiful.

Some similarities I noticed between The Vue and the upcoming Headington and Dunhman colleges that will be ready to live in this upcoming fall semester is that both stressed the importance of community. The Vue is a smaller and more compact living option and in the tour, they highlighted how being so close in physical distance allows for a more close-knitted community feel throughout all the residents. Headington and Dunham colleges also highly emphasize community, as many of their target residents are non-Greek students who haven’t yet had the opportunity to build their own smaller community within the larger OU community.

I am confident that my tour will help me when designing the direct mailer for the new Colleges at OU. Ciao, loves!
