This week in PR Pubs included the continuation of our video project. This week also solidified my assurance that the video project was my favorite project we’ve done yet. I love the quiet that surrounds it; with everyone focusing individually on their own project, you can almost feel that presence of boosted creativity and innovation pouring from everyone.
My video project, as of now, is fairly good. My transitions aren’t extremely choppy, I have a good mix of B-roll and interview shots, and my choice of music fits well with the theme of the video. All that being said, though, I have run into a few problems. First is the music; I love the song picked out, but it only lasts for 2 minutes while my video lasts for 3, and I can’t seem to figure out how to extend certain parts of the song to last for the entire time. I also ran into some trouble when it came to inserting B-roll shots in between interview shots and then having to match up the audio accordingly without any obvious audio breaks
Despite the issues I experienced, I really do like this assignment. I think it provides the perfect amount of independence, creativity and learning (plus I love any project where I get to pretend like I’m a Hollywood movie editor). I am glad that we are continuing the project into next week, not only because I still need time to touch it up, but because I truly enjoy working on it.
