This week we were asked to create a letterhead that (I think) reflected the business cards we made last week. After looking over my classmates work, I realized all the different and create ways to go about designing something and had so many ideas that I could have done for my own card. However, I stuck with the original design and made a letterhead to match. I found the letterhead relatively simply to make, which makes me nervous that I completely did it wrong! I feel like it is too plain, but didn’t want to overwhelm the page with information when the content is the most important part. After creating my letterhead, I felt as though it could use a lot more sprucing up. It looks simple and almost boring. However, it doesn’t distract from the content of the letter and does encompass Alpha Phi. I think I reacted both positively and negatively because there are aspects to my projects thus far that I am proud of and not. I tried to rearrange the writing on the letterhead in multiple ways and tried different ways of aligning to make it look right. However, I still feel as though there is much more than could be done to make it a more aesthetically pleasing document; unfortunately, I am not sure how to do that! I am becoming much more comfortable with InDesign and am enjoying learning the application with every new trial, but I think it will take a lot more trial and error before I feel accomplished in my designs.
