Looking back through all of my blog posts turned out to be a little bit interesting. As far as the writing itself goes, I feel like I always write in the same style or the same way. My blog posts, at least in my opinion, all read the same and I’m not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I did receive a comment from another student mentioning this fact and telling me to write more freely and have more fun with it, or something along those lines. For some reason I struggled to do this and felt like I just needed to write out information as simply as I could. Either way, looking back and re reading things, I wish I had written in a more relaxed and fun way (this isn’t even being written like that..) because it would have made it more enjoyable to read.
In the early days I do remember that it was harder for me to write. I would constantly stop and think about what needed to be said. Now, everything seems to come a little easier and whatever needs to be said, or whatever is on my mind, is said without hesitation.
Looking back I’m not sure I can pinpoint an exact moment when I turned the corner but there are some assignments that I do like better than others. Personally, I really liked a couple of the Jeep ads I made and the “I want you” mascot direct mailer because it took the most work and turned out well. I wish I had spent more time on my business card and the other direct mailers because, while I am happy with them, it seems like I could do a lot more now.
Overall I feel like this class helped me grow because it was a lesson in organization, time management, and allowed for me to improve and work with programs like InDesign and Photoshop. All of these lessons learned will be valuable in the working world and going through this class has made me feel more confident in each area.
