This week we finished up our second major project. For this project we were asked to create our work in Photoshop instead of InDesign. Using Photoshop was a little bit challenging at first because it had been quite a long time since I last used it. Right when I was getting the hang of InDesign again we switched to Photoshop. This isn’t a bad thing though because it allows us to become familiar with both programs instead of just one. Overall I am happy with what I turned in as my final product and like I predicted, it didn’t look much like my first draft. Learning from the first project, I knew I needed to plan ahead better, and after I turned in the first draft I actually took that to heart. If I were to start over I would take my own advice again and really really plan out what I am going to do. If everything goes to plan I would be able to turn in a first draft that I am happy with and will actually resemble what is going to be turned in at the end. After using these two programs I think I’m starting to favor using Photoshop over InDesign. Now that we have finished these two projects and worked with both programs, I am becoming more and more confident with the tools and am looking forward to where I’ll be at the end of the class.

The process for the second project was very similar to the first project with the added step of more specifically defining our target. After we defined the two targets we created messages that would be placed on the mailers and sent to them in an attempt to help solve the issue we wanted to Identify. All of the steps including the research really helped when it came time to create the final product. Research and drafts allowed me to make a much better final product as opposed to me just diving in head first.
