So over the last few weeks, we were asked to design two direct mailers for OU Recruitment services. My first one was awful, let me tell ya. However, I became a little more familiar with photoshop as I played with it. That being said, when I was trying to perfect them basing off of Croom’s suggestions, I couldn’t figure out how to do things. For example, he suggested I take out the white background of the OU on my second mailer, however I couldn’t figure out how to do that. I traced the OU with the path finder but then couldn’t get it to do anything from there. Then when I was trying to draw circles (I’ve done it before) I couldn’t get it to do it again. I feel like Photoshop is really wishy washy. You never know if something will work for you again once you do it once. I was pretty happy with my second mailer but my first wasn’t the best still. I think overall I have figured out that design is just not my thing. I can’t figure out Photoshop or InDesign very easily.
