The final draft of my business card is above (I know its small, but didn’t know how to make it bigger without it turning out blurry). I didn’t attach my letterhead because it isn’t as fun looking. I actually am pretty happy with how this turned out. I took the suggestions given to me and make the alignment either left or right and not centered. This really helped it look more professional. I also changed my fonts to a simpler, more professional looking font than my original one. I was happy that I was able to go from having no design experience at all and make this. Although it isn’t perfect or anything outstanding with lots of graphics, I like the simple look and think it turned out nice.
For this particular design, I probably won’t take it to the company. Although I do work for Outback, since it is a corporate chain restaurant it probably wouldn’t make it much further than my manager. However, I do think that I gained a lot more experience in using InDesign. I had no experience at all with this tool and although I am no expert, I think I am learning more and more as I use it. I hope to get better at using it to be able to add more fun and interesting designs to my projects rather than them all being simple as this one is. My recommendation for future students is don’t get discouraged. Although this isn’t perfect, I have come a long way in using design tools and still have much more room for improvement as the semester goes on.
