This week I was asked to analyze a specific stakeholder and create a message to share with them via a direct mailing piece. I was to use photoshop and incorporate the various elements shared with me via dropbox.

At first, I was a little scatter brained. I knew the demographic that I wanted to reach, but I could not put it into words. I took some time to think about it and eventually I was able to articulate the correct message. This also translated over into my design. I had to do quite a bit of thinking to decide what I wanted to say and what I wanted it to look like. I decided to go with minimal words and just focus on the single message. OU is a big adventure, especially for a demographic that is coming out of state. That is all I wanted to say and I didn’t want to crowd the piece with a ton of text. The font was something that stumped me and can be something that I change in the future.

After all of the brainstorming and failed attempts I am actually pretty happy with my first draft. I know that there is room for improvement and will continue to think of ways that I can make my design better.

Here is what I have so far:
