Description:
Out of state (Oklahoma) students, high school juniors and seniors, w/accepted SAT/ACT scores who have shown interest in OU or have already been accepted and are making a decision
As someone who came to OU from a far away state (Arizona) I think it is really important to target out of state students who aren’t necessarily National Merit Scholars. I know that OU invests heavily in their recruitment and often times they are out of state. I believe that OU should invest more in the further out of state students that are not just National Merit .
I believe that this stakeholder is someone who has “played the field” in terms of college applications. They may have applied to many schools in the region surrounding OU and have even applied and been accepted to OU. These people who have a broad perspective may be asking “Why Oklahoma?” They potentially are the only student thinking about OU from their high school, and going to OU would mean they do not know a single person attending and would be alone. This person understands the value of the OU education, but may want a better understanding of the community OU has to offer. Essentially, the decision to come to OU would be a brave one and would mean a huge change in culture, location and scenery.
