After going back and rereading all my blog posts from the past 4 months almost, I can definitely tell the affect this class had on my writing, designing, and various other skills. Looking back at the very early days I really struggled with the InDesign and Photoshop assignments, but now that I have had more time I clearly know more and have had more practice. I think the point where I turned the corner with my design and creative skills was when we used Canva to make the different social media posts. Those assignments were my favorite because I was very proud of what I made. However, looking back now I wish I spent more time with the direct mailers… I think I did all right for how much I was truly struggling with InDesign, but those weren’t my best works. If I could redo those assignments I would for sure and spend more time on the planning/creative design part of it to make sure they looked the best that they could.
Overall this semester I can truly saw I have grown in all aspects that we have covered throughout the semester. I can now use InDesign and PhotoShop with ease and comfort compared to the first couple weeks in this course. I can also now create various social media posts that can be used across a variety of platforms and apply company branding to different documents. This class has truly helped me in my future Public Relations career and I am happy I grew so much.
