Typography is such an odd word. Honestly before this week, I had no idea what it was. Typography is the style of printed font. It is an art of arranging letters. My professor introduced the topic by offering several games that helped us learn a little bit more about the topic.

First of I started playing I Shot the Serif. It is a game where you click on all of the serif fonts. It helps you practice identifying the difference between serif fonts and sans serif fonts.

The next game I played was Kern Me. Here you practiced spacing out different fonts. This game was oddly satisfying. I really enjoyed making what started as a mess of letters, into an evenly spaced word.

The third game I played was Type Connection. In this game you chose a main character, who is a font. Then you find a strategy to finding them a match. From this strategy, you evaluate the possible matches to match your strategy. This helps you learn what fonts work well together. This made matching up fonts, a fun matching-making game.

These games were an exciting way to experience the world of typography. I strongly recommend playing them and enhancing your typography skills.
